The experienced air passenger from Nagpur is set to be redefined with the new terminal building of Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport finally getting ready. The building is set to be inaugurated on April 14, The Birth Anniversary of Dr.Ambedkar at the hand of Union minister of agriculture Sharad Pawar.

The new terminal building will be capable of handling 1,000 passenger (arrival and departure) at one time,over three time increased from existing capacity of 300. The airport of the present handle an average of 27 flights daily. The work of new terminal is nearing completion. Airport Authority of India(AAI) has invested about Rs 79 crore on construction, sources said.

The new building has spacious and can accommodate 20 counters of different airlines that can provide hassle-free services. The signages will be costumer friendly to aid free movement. of the passengers.

Zones guns will be installed on both the side of runways to keep stray animals to bay. The gun will be fired on LPG before arrival or departure. The sound of their blast is expected to scare away any animal on the runway. Similarly reflective ribbons will be installed to distract birds flying on the terminal.

The facade is expensive with the combination of tinted glass and tall steel columns,The approach roads has been lined with advertising kiosks on the both side and landscaping work is going on to give it a pleasant feel. Sapling will be planted in front of the promises of the new terminal. There is a ample parking space as well.

Like at the intentional airport ,the city have be the duty free shop for the international passengers. Incoming passengers now need not carry what they want to other airports,Sources said. Presently 270 flights fly over the city. The no of flights increased onces the MIHAN projects get operational.
