SITABULDI FORT CANNON
Description : The English residency was situated to the west of the Sitabuldi Fort, i.e. on the site of the present Nagpur Mahavidyalaya. The English had their treasury to the west of the smaller hill of the two Sitabuldi hills. The southern hill spreads from east to west and is the bigger one. The smaller one is to the north. The two hills roughly wise above the ground to a height of hundred feet and are separated by the same distance.
SFS CATHEDRALS
Description : The Aurangabad Dioceses was vacant since January 1998 with the resignation of Bishop Ignatius D'Cunha on health grounds. Born on November 26, 1933, Sylvester had his earlier education at the SFS School and priestly studies at St Charles Seminary. He pursued his major seminary studies (philosophy and theology) at St Joseph's Seminary, Mangalore. He was ordained a priest on December 21, 1960 at SFS Cathedral.
SIR C. V. RAMAN PLANETERIUM
Description : This astronomical field examines the assemblage of planets, moons, dwarf planets, comets, asteroids, and other bodies orbiting the Sun, as well as extrasolar planets. The solar system has been relatively well-studied, initially through telescopes and then later by spacecraft. This has provided a good overall understanding of the formation and evolution of this planetary system, although many new discoveries are still being made.
ZERO MILE STONE
Description : India's "zero mile" is situated in Nagpur, making it the centre of the country, the point where all the distances in India are measured. Nagpur is also important geographically as it lies practically at the centre of India with the country's geographical centre (Zero Mile) being situated here.
DIKSHABHOOMI AT NIGHT
Description : Deekshabhoomi is famous throughout India as the site where Dr. B. R. Ambedkar embraced Buddhism to promote his efforts to overcome discrimination against lower-caste and untouchable Hindus, and is also the largest hollow stupa in the world. Dalits and Buddhists from all over the country converge to Deekshabhoomi every year on Vijaya Dashmi/Dasera one of most important festival of India [Bharat].
HIGH COURT
Description : A full fledged High Court was established at Nagpur on 9-1-1936. Sir Gilbert Stone,a Judge of the Madras High Court was appointed as first Chief Justice. The foundation stone of the new building (present High Court building) was laid by late Sir Hyde Gowan on 9-1-1937. The building was designed by Mr.H.A.N. Medd, Resident Architect. It was constructed at a cost of Rs.7,37,746/-.The building consisted of two stories with a garden courtyard in the centre. The outside dimensions are 400 ft x 230ft.
